Overfelt High School is a member of the Blossom Valley Athletic League (BVAL) .  The league is made up of 26 schools covering 5 different school districts.  The membership includes: East Side Union High Schools (Andrew Hill, Evergreen Valley, Independence, James Lick, Mt. Pleasant, Oak Grove, Overfelt, Piedmont Hills,  Santa Teresa, Silver Creek, Yerba Buena), San Jose Unified Schools (Gunderson, Leland, Lincoln, Pioneer, San Jose, Willow Glen), Campbell Unified High Schools (Branham, Del Mar, Leigh, Prospect, Westmont), Morgan Hill Unified Schools (Live Oak, Sobrato) and Gilroy Unified Schools (Christopher and Gilroy).  

The BVAL is split into 3-4 divisions depending on the sport.  The highest division (A) is Mt. Hamilton, then (B) Santa Teresa/Almaden Valley, and the lowest is (C) West Valley.  These divisions are created to have equitable competitive environment.  You can find more information at BVAL Website
